Celebration of World Elder Abuse Day
Legal Counseling and Facilitation Centre for Senior Citizens of VVM’s G.R. Kare College Of Law, Margao in association with All Goa Senior Citizen Federation and Help Age India celebrated World Elder Abuse Day on 14th June 2022 at 10.30 am in G.D. Auditorium in College premises. On this occasion senior citizens were sensitized about the issues relating to rights of senior citizens. The first session was on the topic Elder Abuse: Issues and Concerns. The resource person for the session was Dr, Shruti Nadkarni, Assistant Professor, GRKCL. The second session was conducted by Mr. Diago D’Costa, President, All Goa Senior Citizens’ Federation on the topic Role of the All Goa Senior Citizens’ Federation in combating elder abuse.
The third session was conducted by Mr. Dattaprasad Pawaskar from HelpAge India on the topic Contribution of Help Age India in preventing elder abuse. On this occasion Help Age India released their annual report for the year 2022 at the hands of Dr. Saba Da Silva, Principal GRKCL.
