Women’s Cell

OBJECTIVE:

VVM’S GovindRamnathKare College of Law is highly proactive in women related matters. The college has constituted the Women’s Cell in the college for taking initiative for creating awareness about women related socio- legal issue and to work for overall development of Women.

 

ANNUAL GENDER  EQUITY SENSITIZATION ACTION PLAN:

            Academic Year 2013-14

  • to organise activities/ create awareness for the promotion of rights of the women.
  • To organise  various competition for the students of the Institution by involving Students’ Council for the same.

Programmes organised as per the Gender Equity Action Plan

  1. Poetry writing on “Women” on 7th March 2013.
  2. Essay competition on topic “Save the Girl Child” on 24th January 2014.
  3. Poster competition on the theme” Save the Girl Child” on 25th January 2014.

 

            Academic Year 2014-15

  • To organise awareness programmes on the issues relating to women.
  • To organise programmes on health and safety of women.
  • To organise various competitions for students like posters/slogans/essay competition/short film /street plays.
  • To conduct self defence programmes for women students, faculty and staff in the college.

              Academic Year 2015-16

  • To enhance the self-esteem and self-confidence of women students, faculty and staff in the college by organising programmes in personality development and communication skills.
  • To promote cultural activities for overall personality development of student.
  • To assist students in research relating to women.
  • To organise talks and special guest lectures on socio-legal issues related to women.

  1. Lecture on ‘Socio-Legal aspects of abuse of Girl Child’ on 30th January 2016.
  2. Screening of documentaries on women on 9th March 2016.

 

                Academic Year 2016-17

  • To promote students to take part in seminars, workshops, programmes on women.
  • To organise awareness programmes on the issues relating to women.
  • To organise programmes on health and safety of women.

  1. Elocution competition on the topic ‘Women in the changing world of work’ on 7th March 2017

 

                Academic Year 2017-18

  • To organise programmes and competitions for the protection of womens and girl child
  • To organise state level seminar on rights of women.
  • To hold guest lecture on PCPNDT Act.
  • To organise rally for the protection of the girl child, women and against foeticide and infanticide.
  • To organise brainstorming sessions on issues related to women.
  • To arrange self defense class to train the girl students in martial art.

  1. Poster competition on ‘Womb to Tomb’ on 9th December 2017.
  2. Rally for the cause ‘Save the girl child’ on 11th December 2017
  3. Talk on PC-PNDT Act on 11th December 2017 by Advocate Pallavi Kakod.
  4. Brain-storming session’ on women and law by Dr. Sushila Sawant Mendes on 18th December 2017.
  5. Self Defence session on 3rd March 2018.
  6. One Day State – level Seminar on ‘Transforming women’s lives: issues, concerns & challenges’ on 8th March 2018.

 

                 Academic Year 2018-19

  • To hold essay writing, poetry writing and poster competitions in association with literary club of the Institution on the topic violence against women.
  • To nominate gender champions of the college.
  • To promote students to take part in seminars, workshops, programmes on women.
  • To collaborate with schools, higher secondary, colleges, private and public offices to conduct awareness talks on the issues relating to women.
  • To provide guidance of expert in the topic relating to women studies.

  1. Essay Writing Competition organised in association with Literary Club of the college on the topic “Violence against Women: Laws and Reality” On 7th September 2018.
  2. Poster Competition organised in association with Literary Club of the college on the topic “I am born to live” on 10th September 2018.
  3. Poetry Writing Competition organised in association with Literary Committee of the college on the topic “Being Women” on 11th September 2018.
  4. Women’s Day Celebration and discussion on Child & Women trafficking in India & Goa.

 

                Academic Year 2019-20

  • To promote students to take part in seminars, workshops, programmes on women.
  • To hold essay writing, poetry writing and poster competitions
  • To promote and assist in a research on issues pertaining to women.
  • To organise guest lectures, Master Classes and GRK Talks.
  • To get associated with NGOs and organisations working for the protection of the women and to hold state level activities.

  1. Orientation for the students by the Lions Club officials
  2. Installation of Leo Club at the Institution
