GRKCL commemorates Goa Revolution Day

On the occasion of Goa Revolution Day, 18th June 2025, the Political Science Academium of G. R. Kare College of Law organized a masterclass with Mr. Noel Sevrito Goes, Assistant Professor in History, from Govt. College, Quepem, as the resource person.
The resource person delivered a compelling session on the historic 18th June 1946 movement led by Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, highlighting how it marked the beginning of first organised resistance against Portuguese rule in Goa. He explored the background, immediate response, and the long-term role this movement played in igniting Goa’s liberation struggle.
The Masterclass was attended by FY and TY BA LL.B. students, with compering by Ms. Tamanna Prajith, TYBALLB student, the welcome address was given by Dr. Maria Goretti Simoes, Officiating Principal and vote of thanks by Asst. Prof. Ashmita Naik, Incharge of Political Science Academium.
The masterclass offered students deep insights into Goa’s political awakening and emphasized the importance of remembering local histories of resistance that shaped the region’s democratic journey.
